Why it matters
Over 1.1 million girls and young women have been denied secondary and higher education. Access to libraries, the internet, and learning spaces is criminalized. Education is not just a right — it is a form of existential resistance.
- Conduct underground literacy, English, and computer classes in 6 provinces (Kabul, Takhar, Balkh, Ghor, Badakhshan, Bamyan)
- Teach human rights, sexual and mental health, leadership, and digital security
- Train and support young female educators to expand the learning network
- Create legal referral systems for students and teachers at risk
I am 17 years old. I have been attending an underground class for three months. Yesterday, I learned for the first time about women's rights in international law. Now I know that banning our education is a war crime — not a ‘divine command’.
