Yalda Hakim, the Afghan-Australian journalist, has been honored as “Presenter of the Year” by the Royal Television Society (RTS) in the UK for her exceptional work with Sky News.

Sky News announced on Thursday, March 5, that Hakim could not attend the award ceremony as she is currently reporting from the Middle East.

Over the past year, Yalda Hakim has conducted interviews with some of the world’s most prominent leaders. One of her most controversial interviews was with Khawaja Asif, Pakistan’s Defense Minister, in which he admitted that his country had carried out “dirty work” for the United States over three decades, while being questioned about the funding and training of terrorists.
